Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary
This wildlife sanctuary has been attracting many tourists since the beginning of Indian Rhino Vision, a program for the conservation of one-horned rhinos. It is one of the best places for bird watchers and photographers. Approximately 375 species of both migratory and resident birds have been recorded here.
Garampani Wildlife Sanctuary
It is one of the oldest wildlife sanctuaries which contains a hot water spring from where the name of the century is derived from i.e., Garampani Wildlife Sanctuary. You can expect to see tigers, Elephants, Hill Myna and many such animals and birds here.
Bornadi Wildlife Sanctuary
Situated in the foothills of the Himalayas, this sanctuary borders Bhutan and is constituted specially for the protection and conservation of Hispid Hare & Pigmy Hog. Besides them, you can also spot Gaur, Elephant, Peafowl, Hornbill, etc.
Chakrashila Wildlife Sanctuary
This wildlife sanctuary is located in the Dhubri district in western Assam and is known to be the home of Golden Langur off the foothills of Himalaya. There are around 273 species of birds and 14 species of amphibians and 60 species of Fish.
Panidihing Wildlife Sanctuary
Heaven for Migratory birds and resident birds, about 165 species of birds live here. Panidihing Wildlife Sanctuary is located on the southern bank of river Brahmaputra in the Sibsagar district. Varieties of fish have been spotted here with various species of frogs and snakes.
Hoollongapar Gibbon Sanctuary
This wildlife sanctuary is home to rare, endangered apes in India like the Hoolock Gibbon. Hoollongapar Wildlife Sanctuary is situated amidst tea gardens, you can spot elephants, Leopard, Tigers, Pangolin, and many other animals.
Nambor Wildlife Sanctuary
Contiguous to Garampani Wildlife Sanctuary, this is located in Karbi Anglong Autonomous District Council. It harbors 51 rare species of Orchid and is rich in terrestrial woodland birds.
