The best time to visit the Nal Sarovar Bird Sanctuary, situated a few km to the south of Ahmedabad is during the winters. The months between November and February are considered to be the prime time to visit this sanctuary. The Sanctuary is filled with migratory birds during this time and attracts thousands of tourists every year. Demoiselle Crane, Red-naped Ibis, Painted Stork, Western Swamphen are some of the migratory birds that can be spotted in the Bird Sanctuary during the winter season.
Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, Rajasthan:
Formerly known as Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, Keoladeo National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Winter Home to thousands of Migratory Birds, Keoladeo National Park is one of the best tourist destinations in India. Painted Stork, Lesser Whistling Ducks, Greater Spotted Eagle, Sarus Crane, Heron are some of the migratory birds that can be spotted in the National Park.
Karnala Bird Sanctuary, Maharashtra:

Nelapattu Bird sanctuary, Andhra Pradesh:
Home to various rich bird species such as SpoonBill, Open Bill Stork, etc. is this pleasant place situated in the Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh. This sanctuary is considered to be an important breeding ground for spot-billed pelicans. The sanctuary attracts tourists from all over the world to witness birds such as Oriental darter, Garganey, Asian Openbill, little cormorant, Eurasian coot.
Chilka Lake Bird Sanctuary, Orissa:
Home to about 60 bird species during the months of October-March, Chilka Lake Bird Sanctuary is Asia’s biggest internal saltwater pond. October-March is considered to be the best time to visit the place although the weather is moderately warm throughout the year, during these months the lake is filled with migratory birds. Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, Goa:

Accessed by a ferry service running between Ribander and Chorao is a Mangrove Habitat which is popularly known as Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary. With many migratory birds, it is one of the smallest bird sanctuaries with birds such as flying sparrows, Parrots, and pelicans that attract tourists from all over the world.
