Wildlife Sanctuaries Where You Can Spot Black Panther in India

When we talk about Black Panther, immediately we relate to the fictional character BAGHEERA from Rudyard Kipling\’s Jungle Book or Marvel\’s Super Hero \”The Black Panther\” from Wakanda. Giving so much joy to all wildlife enthusiasts, a magnificent and rare Black Panther is getting spotted in the Kabini region of Karnataka\’s Nagarhole National Park named Saya was first spotted in 2015 and since then everyone is trying to get a glimpse of him. 

Black Panther is also known as Melanistic Leopard, they generally prefer dense forest to live in and have very good eyesight. Even though it is difficult to see Black Panther you can easily spot them in some Wildlife Sanctuaries in India.

Kabini Wildlife Sanctuary

Kabini is a magical place where you can find animals like tigers, Leopards, elephants, wild dogs, and many more, but said to be the land of leopards. It used to be a private hunting ground of the famous Mysore Maharajas.

Today, These forests still allure people from the farthest point of the globe but with a different motive, a motive of exploring, indulging with nature, and tracking this majestic animal Black Panther.

Nagarhole National Park 

Nagarhole is another National Park and Tiger Reserve that is a home to rare species of Black Panther situated in Karnata. It is one of the favorite destinations of wildlife enthusiasts for spotting these rare incredible species of animal. Nagarhole comes under Nilgiri Biosphere Reserves which is UNESCO Heritage in India.

Tadoba Andheri Tiger Reserve

Spotting Black Panther is always an extraordinary experience, both because they are few in numbers, elusive and melanistic. Tadoba Wildlife Sanctuary is a famous wildlife destination in India. A picture went viral on social media when a student captured a black panther in this Tiger Reserve of Maharashtra. And since then it became a hotspot for all wildlife enthusiasts to spot this majestic animal.

Mudumalai National Park

This jungle is full of surprises, and the most exciting sighting is the melanistic Black Panther here. Mudumalai National Park now known as the Mudumalai Tiger reserve is located in North West region of Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. It is famous for endangered species like the Indian elephant, Bengal Tiger, Gaur, and Indian Leopard. You can even spot Indian white-rumpled vul& long-billed vulture.
